The Walk In

5 x 60- ITV

Radio Times

Based on the true story of how a Neo-Nazi terror plot was foiled by an inside man, this explosive, thought-provoking drama explores some of today’s most critical issues, including racism, freedom of speech and terrorism. With the Brexit referendum wreaking social havoc across Britain, tensions are high for anti-fascist campaigner Matthew Collins and his group Hope Not Hate, who fear a violent, racist campaign from the far-right. When MP Jo Cox is brutally murdered by a right-wing fanatic, far-right extremist group National Action senses an opportunity to escalate a terrifying situation into a full-blown race war. National Action is banned by the government and goes underground, the police believing the threat from them closed down. But Collins fears further attacks. He needs an inside man in National Action - a ‘Walk-In’. With the banning, he suspects he has probably lost all chance of getting information from within - until he receives an email from someone claiming to be a member. It’s a mole, ready to talk about a horrific plan to murder another MP…
